About Artist Residence Penzance - West Cornwall

Our 10 rooms in Penzance form a fun and hip boutique guesthouse in the historic heart of Central Penzance, on Chapel Street. Contemporary design housed within a Grade II listed 17th Century Georgian mansion makes for a magical 'old meets new', with a fun and funky informal vibe. Guests range from romantic couples to solo travellers, from culture seekers and art lovers to cornish explorers - attracting all ages!

Rooms

Each of the playful boutique hotel style bedrooms have been individually designed and decorated by Cornish & British artists. Choose one that appeals to your inner artist - from the wacky murals in Jo Peel to Pinky Vision pastel sea-scapes, butterfly themed Dolly Divine to cool & chic A.R Blank. Stay in your own private masterpiece with the comforts of top-notch bedding, en-suite shower rooms, free Wi-Fi, flatscreen digital TV’s and eco-chic toiletries. Each room is totally unique - to suit different tastes. The artistic fun doesn’t stop with our rooms. All of our guests have access to our magnificent all-white room on the ground floor, which serves as our breakfast room, gallery and chill-out space, with an eclectic hotpotch of new and recycled furniture to lounge on.

Food

Delicious breakfasts are packed with local cornish produce. A continental cold buffet is beautifully laid out, whilst a rotating ‘hot dish of the day’ - with dishes such as scrambled egg with smoked salmon or omelette with honey roasted ham - may be cooked to order. All served on a selection of pretty mismatched and brightly coloured crockery, Artist Residence breakfasts provide a great start to the day.

Art

If you imagine an atom, Artist Residence has art at its core. Its not just the artist rooms that are visual feasts, but the whole of our boutique accommodation is filled head to toe with art. Our art gallery shows regular exhibitions and artisan pieces are sold and displayed in our quirky shop space.

Penzance

Artist Residence is a great base for exploring Penzance’s bohemian charms and south west Cornwall, just 5 minutes from the sparkling sea-front and Penzance Rail Station. Walk out of our chunky red front door and you are on Penzance’s most vibrant street, crammed with cafe’s, restaurants, pubs, shops and gallery’s. Penzance - a historic port town - is the perfect base for exploring world famous attractions such as St Michaels Mount, Minack Theatre and Lands End, as well as being located on the South West Coastal Path for breathtaking walks. Popular towns, villages and beaches such as St Ives, Porthcurno, Mousehole and Sennen Cove are located close by, with Penzance being the port of travel to the Isles of Scilly. Penzance is the ultimate staycation.
